All about Internet Shops

It's been quite some time since my last blog update. One of the main reasons for this delay is the constraint of time. I've been so occupied with nothingness that I couldn't find a spare moment to visit an internet shop.

By the way, I believe we should refer to these establishments as internet shops (hmm... I should have included this in my previous post about naming things). Some people call them internet cafes, which is fine. But what if they don't serve coffee or any kind of beverage? Can they still be considered cafes?

And what about those internet places that cater to teenagers burning through their money, spending hours engrossed in online gaming? What should we call those? Should we label them as internet shops (since most of the games they play are online), video arcade centers (since people solely go there to play games), or even casinos (since betting is prevalent among their patrons)?

Personally, I despise going to internet shops that prioritize gamers. Here are my reasons why:

1. I'm not a gamer. My knowledge of internet gaming is nonexistent. I have no clue how to play DOTA or any other popular games. The attendants barely pay me any attention because I'm not part of their target demographic. I literally have to stand in front of them to get something printed.

2. Gamers can be extremely noisy and use foul language. They're already engaged in online conversations with their fellow players, and yet they still shout across the room to announce their victories. I mean, seriously, what's the point? Does it give them some kind of ego boost to let everyone know they've defeated a digital opponent?

3. Imagine the scenario I just described in point number 2 multiplied by the number of PCs in the internet shop. This leads me to my third reason. Internet shops that offer online games are typically packed with gamers! It's a nightmare for someone like me who just wants to check their email. Trying to complete any research amidst this chaos is akin to having a quiet, peaceful, and stress-free lunch at a Jollibee store—it's highly unlikely. On top of that, the air conditioning can't adequately cool the entire place due to the accumulated body heat. Sheesh!

That being said, I would like to give recognition to the Internet shops that provide a pleasant environment for people who visit to use the Internet for its intended purposes. No, not for browsing adult content, but for research and communication.

Oh, shoot. Time's up. I'll have to finish my thoughts next time. Once again, the issue of time constraints arises. Note to self: get an internet connection at home.
