Bamboo Live

Image
Chevalier School recently had the extraordinary opportunity to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and they made sure to mark the occasion in a remarkable way. The student council organized a concert featuring none other than the renowned artist, Bamboo. Now, you might wonder what the fuss is all about. Well, if you've been living in the Philippines for the past decade, you would understand the significance. Bamboo is a band that would undoubtedly top any ranking system for Filipino bands. Comprised of Bamboo MaƱalac on vocals, Nathan Azarcon on bass (both former members of the band Rivermaya), Ira Cruz on guitars, and Vic Mercado on drums, having them headline an event at your school is truly a major achievement. It was a Friday night, and I found myself in the vicinity of the school, eager to be part of the festivities. However, being frugal and lacking funds, I couldn't bring myself to pay for the P300 ticket. Instead, I settled for listening to the music from outside the gymnas...

Movie Review: Legion

Image
Legion tells the story of a group of people engaged in a battle against God's angels. In this storyline, God becomes extremely angry with humanity and decides to wipe them out by sending possessed angels to destroy all of mankind. It sounds straightforward, but when the baby arrives prematurely, the legion inexplicably stops its assault. Then Gabriel, another angel, confronts Michael and kills him. Gabriel proceeds to chase after Charlie and her baby. Miraculo...

A lot of things happened last year, most of which were challenging. I experienced the loss of dear people and faced numerous trials. I don't even want to delve into those memories. The sad moments from last year have become an indelible part of my life—a gap that, no matter how much I try to forget, remains. And truth be told, deep down, I didn't really want to forget them. Now, a new year has begun, marking the start of a new decade. Fresh opportunities are presenting themselves in life. I am united with the rest of humanity in the hope of making things right. No matter how tough life gets, a new day always brings hope and puts a smile on my face. I don't usually express myself in such sentimental ways, but the past year has humbled me greatly. Beyond the difficulties, I see the people—both friends and family—who appreciate and suppo...
